How did your younger kids like the trip? I have been wanting to go back there but think that my kids are too young to appreciate it. Did you spend much time with W. while you were there?

Andy,

The trip was really great and the kids really enjoyed it, even (for the most part) all of the walking and standing around. Of course, there were times when I felt obligated to cram in more stuff, but am glad that we still left the evenings free for the kids to just relax. Fortunately my youngest is a really great little guy, but I did do a fair amount of carrying him around. His favorite parts were just running around and playing with his cousins and siblings.

Welcome home Paul, Looks like a fabulous vacation. How old are your kids? I have 4 also, but mine look like they are all just a bit younger than yours. Mine are 10, 8, 4, and 3.

Welcome home! Very nice pics. D.C. is my favorite family vacation spot. So much to see, so much to learn in the heart of our nation. Was the cherry blossoms still on? Did you run around the monument parks or the Potomac River?

From RivertonPaul on Wed, Apr 15, 2009 at 11:12:50 from 67.42.27.114

D.C. was wonderful, though I didn't do any running around the sites, just around my sister-in-law's home in VA.

We were there during peak cherry blossom time, including the cherry blossom festival. Interestingly, while we were there they had the Cherry Blossom 10 mile race with 15,000 participants, but it sold out its registration in the first 3 hours back in December.
