 Feeling groovy this morning:

 

Snuck in 20 before church again.

1) 8:11 steep uphill from my house down by the river; 2) 7:10; 3) 7:09; 4) 6:51; 5) 6:51; 6) 6:55; 7) 6:57; 8) 6:49; 9) 6:52; 10) 6:38; 11) 7:45; 12) 7:36; 13) 7:46; 14) 7:53; 15) 7:46; 16) 7:58; 17) 7:58; 18) 7:55; 19) 7:47; 20) 7:47; 20.5) 3.25.  (2:32:14)

 Felt good, purposely held back on the last 10, again wanting to get my body more accustomed to more time outside on my feet without really pushing the pace.  I'm noticing at the end of my long runs I have plenty of aerobic fitness, but my legs are a bit hammered, especially the tendons on my feet.  I've avoided pushing it since that was how I got hurt earlier.

Okay ... I am confused. I thought you were running Park City, but I must be wrong. No way someone would run 20 miles less than a week before PCM ... right???

Killer run. Can't believe you can run such an incredible pace on your long runs. Impressive!

I find I have the same problem...my legs give out way before my lungs...How do you fix that? I have tried to lift more plus I do speed work and it has helped a little. Is there anything else I can do?

Nice 20 miles. I agree with Kathie. It seems my legs always get more tired than my lungs. When you find the solution let me know.

Kathie, Dale, me too. If I'm going to bonk in a marathon, it's always my legs, not my lungs that quit first. I think it is just a matter of logging enough miles and not going out too fast.

Holly schmolly! How in the world did you "snuck" a 20 miler at those pace? You're amazing! You're churning out some impressive OUTSIDE long runs week after week. Incredible endurance and recovery. Hope the tendons and legs are ready for PCM.
