Got a gift certificate from the in-laws so I stopped by Wasatch Running.  I couldn't resist getting another pair of the Elixir 3s.   Even though they are last years model, I have enjoyed my blue pair so much (last year I had Wasatch Running special order in the blue model even though they had the red ones in stock), at this point I don't feel any need to even mess with this year's Elixir 4.  (In addition, I was able to get them for only $50 on super clearance -- bonus.)

I slept in an extra hour (late nite for work) so I only got in 7.

2 easy at 8:30, random incline to 1.5%.

1 at 5:54, .2 at 8:30 (short recovery), 1 at 5:54,  2.8 at 8:30.  Wanted to throw in just a bit of speed, legs felt fine.

All on the notorious treadmill, of course.

Bit of Speed? Those are smokin' fast!

(in my book) Way nice.

That's a great buy on your shoes.

Thanks Cal. They were tough, I won't pretend, and I wimped out from doing 3 (didn't help that a gym friend came by and wanted to chat on the next treadmill), but I'm still satisfied.

Funky new comment put my full name. I'm testing this to see if it will go back to RivertonPaul with my manual override.

Kristi, I went to user options and put "RivertonPaul" in my name field. I put my name in the address field, in case Sasha wanted it. I assume Sasha will change this sometime so that the Blog Nickname will be the default instead of user name at some point, but until then this was my workaround.

i had the same problem with my name. (same solution too.)

Gift Certificate? Was it your birthday? Check out those 5:54 miles. Man alive Paul!!!

From RivertonPaul on Wed, Jun 03, 2009 at 12:13:25 from 67.42.27.114

Cal, I guess Sasha doesn't want us using names like Bandit. :)

Teena, Friday is my son's birthday, my birthday, and my father-in-law's birthday, all 25 years apart. It is pretty cool for my son.

Serious?? How did that pan out??

I thought it was cool that my twins had/have the same birthday!!! :)

HA!

Thanks for the help with the "manual override!"

From Kathie Phillips on Wed, Jun 03, 2009 at 13:21:00 from 207.155.176.10

I can't post a comment at all unless I use firefox which I don't have set up or know how to use as well. I hope that is fixed soon.

Great run!

Oh I almost forgot I run in the elixir too and I love them!

From Susanna Lew on Wed, Jun 03, 2009 at 16:09:15 from 71.36.64.213

WOW! 5:54! WOW!

I'm thinking about getting a pair of elixir too. I run in the Inspire. That's a great deal you got there. HAPPY B'days to you, son and FIL and Anniversary! 25 yrs apart, very cool!

I tried over-riding the full name thingie. It didn't work, may be I'm missing something.

From RivertonPaul on Wed, Jun 03, 2009 at 16:21:38 from 67.42.27.114

Smooth, I have run in Ispires for years (and its predecessors) and still do currently in the blue Inspire 5. :) I love my Mizunos, and am glad you do. I'm in good company.

Wow, Paul..Awesome speed work. And what a dela on the shoes. I wish I could get some Asics Cumulus at that price. No matter where I get them, they are always around $95
