Dude, your lookin pretty fit in the pic there, lol. One hand and no spotter, pretty impressive. I swear you have bulked up a bit since DesNews.

Mike, it is just the new mustache, it makes me look buffer.

From Rhett on Wed, Aug 19, 2009 at 12:23:55 from 74.41.249.102

You doing PCM this Sat?

From RivertonPaul on Wed, Aug 19, 2009 at 12:38:20 from 67.42.27.114

Rhett, I am running Park City. Sorry I never answered your question about Grand Slam placing. I did so poorly in Utah Valley that I am not sure of my place. In my age group I am behind Bill Mandler and Rich Borget from the blog, and one other guy. Looks like overall mens, I am in 8th.

From RAD on Wed, Aug 19, 2009 at 13:54:20 from 76.27.12.70

Nice job on the strengthening! Nice 'easy' miles as well :) Hope to see you Saturday.

Very impressive. How do you hold that up with one hand? Wow.

Do you have any goals for PC this weekend?

From Burt on Wed, Aug 19, 2009 at 16:23:14 from 68.76.197.194

I've been staring at the picture for 20 minutes waiting for it to move.

From Rhett on Wed, Aug 19, 2009 at 16:43:50 from 74.32.218.69

So 4th in you AG. How far are you behind number 3? I'm sure you can take him with a good showing at PCM.

From RivertonPaul on Wed, Aug 19, 2009 at 16:54:11 from 67.42.27.114

Actually, 1st and 2nd in the age group are only 1 second apart, 3rd is Rich B, who will make a good showing at PC, 3 minutes and 11 seconds back, then me, a whopping 21 minutes and 40 seconds back. The good thing is, one or more of them will remain in the top 3 overall, and in the past overall winners have not got age group awards as well, so by elimination I may place.

From Cal on Wed, Aug 19, 2009 at 16:59:45 from 66.133.117.3

Did you place in the AG last year? I was wondering what the awards were.

From RivertonPaul on Wed, Aug 19, 2009 at 17:00:35 from 67.42.27.114

Cal, I was 4th last year, so I have no idea. :)

From Bill Mandler on Wed, Aug 19, 2009 at 18:14:54 from 72.24.152.3

Paul, last year the Grand Slam gave out awards for the top 3 overall and for the top in each age group. They did take the top 3 out of the age groups, so that is good. I ended up winning the age group but that was only good for a $10 gift card to a running store that is 160 miles from my house :-)

From RivertonPaul on Wed, Aug 19, 2009 at 18:19:49 from 67.42.27.114

Bill,

I expect you, MattK and Rich to be fighting it out for top 3 overall. I'd be thrilled for you and Rich to both move into the Top 3, which would move me up some in the age group standings. And Wasatch Running Company is close enough to my house :) Sad thing is at Utah Valley I wasn't even thinking Grand Slam.

From Bill Mandler on Wed, Aug 19, 2009 at 18:32:11 from 72.24.152.3

Paul, The only thing I was thinking at Utah Valley was "what did I do to my foot and how long will it take to heal". I would have been in first overall had it not been for that injury......I need to make up 15 minutes in 2 races. probably not going to happen. I am just taking it easy this Saturday because I want to do well 2 weeks later in my home-town marathon.
