The interstitial tears in my Achilles tendon seem to be healing, but it is a slow process and takes a fair amount of time.  I went in to the doctor again just this last Friday and we could see on ultrasound imaging that the tears are getting smaller, but I still have a bunch and still need a bunch of the stem cells from the injected fat to turn into new tendon.  The goal is to get me as close to normal as possible so I can return to running.  I am scheduled for my third injection series in August (Hopefully my last -- although I keep saying that).  I had already written off this entire year.  Hopefully I will be back at it next year.

30 minutes elliptical.

One hour barbell strength.

You are being very patient. I can't even imagine going through that.

Keep up the cross training so when you come back you will be in amazing shape. I'm starting to think my body needs a year off, with all the stupid injuries I keep getting.

Wow!!! I am sorry that you need another injection, but so happy that it is healing. Thank you for the update. We need to get the crew together for lunch sometime. I feel like I haven't seen everyone forever.

Wow, that's tough, Paul. You're doing great at keeping up the cross training, though. That's a terrible injury, but the fat injections sound interesting - yet painful. I'm surprised they found any on ya to inject.

Good luck!!

Funny picture ha!

Hope you continue to heal up. Even if it's slow. Getting better is better than not right?

I ditto everything everyone has already said, I'm glad it's working! And it's a good thing you kept your expectations in check. I'm sure it's still very hard though. Good job keeping on. :)
