7.5 at 8:00, random inline to 1.5% (feeling fine).  As soon as I stepped up the pace to 6:58, -2.5% decline, my legs were trashed (I guess all the lunges on Monday in Strike took an effect).  So, I only did 4 miles at that pace before finishing with 2.5 easy at 8:00.  I suppose this was one of those days where being on the treadmill made it too easy to cut the run short.  However, at the same time, I didn't press myself to injury as I have in the past by ignoring the warnings of trashed legs.

I suppose I'll just have to wait until another run to be an animal.

14 miles dang man. I really have to up my game to keep up with you.:) Your a animal. Is this treadmill your running on at home or you going to a gym? havent seen to many that will decline that far.

From RivertonPaul on Wed, Apr 22, 2009 at 13:34:12 from 67.42.27.114

Mark, decline is on gym treadmill, my home treadmill doesn't have the decline.

From huans32 on Wed, Apr 22, 2009 at 13:37:35 from 138.64.2.76

Ah nice. I have got to get back to the gym. They have some new TM there so I will have to have MrsFit check out for a decline. I dont know if you mentioned this before but are you running Ogden?

From RivertonPaul on Wed, Apr 22, 2009 at 13:40:40 from 67.42.27.114

Yeah I'm running the Ogden full again this year. I'm not sure yet exactly how I'll do, but at least it will be a good start to the year. Have you run it before?

From huans32 on Wed, Apr 22, 2009 at 13:49:00 from 138.64.2.76

Ran this last year with JeffC and Fly till I cramped up. Its a great course though. I am not in best condition to go for a BQ at any rate this year. So not sure what I will be shooting for either.

Paul,

Hope your trashed legs feel a little less trashy tomorrow. (Perhaps substitute some tootsie pops for some of those lunges next time ... you seem quite fond of them.)

Just curious, why do you opt to do your long runs on Wednesday anyway?

I don't think anyone else can work the TM the way you do. You should write a book on TM running. Great run and nice listening to the body. You don't want to end up a gimp like me.

Nice.. Animal was favorite muppet as a kid. Hal Higdon once said to be a good runner we must learn to be a good animal I believe.

Darkhorse - that probably was referring to all the back to nature breaks that come with running :-)

You are always an animal Paul!

Paul...I'm going to take a break from running and the blog for a while to get my family in order.

Just as long as you aren't a turkey.

From Richard on Thu, Apr 23, 2009 at 10:15:56 from 71.199.12.164

Paul, thanks for keeping up with my marathon and the well wishes. I felt pretty good about it. I was disappointed not to break 3 hours though. I am hoping we can run together sometime. It looks like your training well when is your next Marathon?

From RivertonPaul on Thu, Apr 23, 2009 at 11:34:36 from 67.42.27.114

Dale,

I wish you well and the best for you and your family. You can always private message if you feel a need to have a someone lend a listening ear.
